I do not worry so much about the future arriving too fast than about how much we will learn to accept along the way. A world we can monitor but barely understand, suffering so familiar it disappears into the background and institutions that mistake their own survival for progress...

I always try to confront some of the problems I see in the world and fight for the causes I care about with the resources and reach I have today. Both are still small, but I refuse to make having more a condition for beginning. On occasion, I make some pretty cool stuff too.

EDITH (https://project-edith.com)

Nowadays, the world moves at an incredible ever-increasing pace, and sometimes it feels like we are always one step behind it. It is a very important capability to be aware of what is happening in the world, and not always relying on one website to learn about it an hour after. Inspired by platforms like Palantir’s Gotham, I set out to build that place for myself, so I created EDITH. It puts the world’s infrastructure, military assets and satellites on a single 3D globe, from power plants and pipelines to undersea cables and thousands of satellites moving in real time, all built from open data. It began as a side project and quickly became the first thing I open when something happens in the world. I believe understanding the world shouldn’t depend on who you work for or what clearance you hold, and EDITH is my attempt to prove it. I keep updating the software and adding more data as time passes by. The more interest I gather from people, the more interviews I complete, the more intelligence I acquire of real world cases that EDITH can enable to bring real value to people... for free.

Latest update: I have currently completed 90% of EDITH's data layer infrastructure. I am also modeling three potential use cases and new views. EDITH will become available to the public shortly, so direct to EDITH's website for more information on how to get early access.

Better Smile Foundation (https://www.bettersmilefoundation.org)

I founded Better Smile Foundation after a painful experience in my own family made me understand how easily oral health can be overlooked, and how serious the consequences can become; a story I’ve shared here. What began as something deeply personal opened my eyes to the scale of a largely preventable problem, since oral diseases affect nearly 3.7 billion people worldwide, while untreated decay in permanent teeth is the most common health condition globally. Behind those numbers are people living with pain, children struggling to eat or sleep, and families putting off care because it costs more than they can afford. Through education in schools and local communities, awareness, and research, I want Better Smile to help people protect their health earlier, before neglect becomes suffering, and give more children the chance to grow up without learning to hide their smile.

Domestic Violence Aid (https://domesticviolenceaid.com)

I created Domestic Violence Aid after reading about the abuse allegations involving a police officer serving in the Greek Parliament’s security, a case that left me thinking about how much suffering can remain hidden within a home, even when the person accused belongs to an institution people are supposed to turn to for protection. I couldn’t stop thinking about what it takes to ask for help when fear, dependence, and isolation have become part of everyday life, and how important it is that someone taking that step can find somewhere to turn. Domestic Violence Aid grew out of that concern to be an open-source directory bringing together helplines and support organizations around the world, built with the hope that making help easier to find could make a difference at the moment someone needs it most. I hope women, children and husbands around the world who are victims of domestic violence and do not know who to speak to seeking for help will find this website and know where to reach out. It is the least I can do for a cause I care a lot and as the years pass by, I plan to commit more effort to put a stop to child abuse and trafficking as well.
